ABOUT

Background

Why Me?

For Funsies

WHERE I'M FROM

I was born and raised in Orange, CA. Growing up, I was quite the artsy menace. I drew all over the walls, built towns out of paper, chalked imaginary worlds on the street…the list goes on. I inherited my love for interior design from my mom and my love for art from my dad. That being said, with all my crafty endeavors and desire to curate enjoyable spaces for people, I decided that architecture school was the way to go.

WHY I'M HERE

After receiving my architecture degree, I decided to pivot my career to UI/UX design. Why? I have always enjoyed creating experiences for people that make them feel included and happy. Instead of designing a building for my architecture thesis like everyone else, I wrote a book that educated readers on the importance of inclusivity in architectural spaces (learn more here). Through illustrated graphics and formatted information that can be easily navigated and referenced, the process of creating the book led me to feel more aligned with user experience design. Therefore, my aim is to design inclusive digital experiences for users across a range of project types.

WHAT I'M DOING NOW

Currently, I am taking the Google UX Certification program to gain the skills I need for a career as a UI/UX designer. Before then, I worked as a visual merchandiser at a thrift store, designed class flyers at a yoga studio, drew chalkboard art for a retail store, and took on the challenge of freelance graphic and web design for small businesses in town. When I'm not working, you can usually find me at the beach, on a hike, playing card games, reading a book…oh and drinking a matcha latte (it's kind of an obsession).

WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR

I am looking for impactful work with a diverse team of talented people. With a background in architectural, inclusive, and human-centered design, I have a multi-faceted understanding of the user experience that people have with physical and digital products. I am eager to continue to learn and grow as a designer.
